Apart from the aesthetic benefits of improving your teeth alignment, Invisalign also aids in reducing periodontal and occlusal issues, thus helping to maintain your dental health for life.

How Does Invisalign Work?

This cosmetic dentistry procedure is straight-forward and minimally invasive but provides extremely effective & long lasting results.

The Invisalign process involves 5 simple steps:

Calgary Invisalign Consultation To determine whether you are a suitable candidate for Invisalign, your dentist will examine your overall dental health and discuss your oral requirements during a comprehensive consultation.
Customized Cosmetic Treatment

Your dentist will take any required impressions and x-rays of your teeth and use the Invisalign system to create a 3D image of your bite. /p>

This will help us create a customized Invisalign treatment for you, taking into account your specific aesthetic goals & dental movements.

** At this point, your dentist may be able to advise on the length of this cosmetic dentistry treatment. Typically, a full program takes up to 12 months.**

Custom, Removable Trays

Based on the 3D image and specific treatment plan, a set of custom aligners will be created from comfortable plastic. Unlike braces, they will not interfere with your daily activities.

While you must remove them when you eat or brush your teeth, it is recommended that you wear your invisalign aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day for optimum results

Regular Checkups With the Dentist

You will receive a new set of aligners every 2 weeks to ensure that you advance to the next stage of your Invisalign treatment.

In addition, we recommend that our patients schedule checkups every 4-6 weeks with our dentist so we can monitor your progress.

Beautiful, Straight Smile!

By the end of this cosmetic dentistry treatment, you will be able to enjoy the straight and beautiful smile you’ve always wanted.

**To maintain the new position of your teeth, dentists recommend using retainers after the treatment is complete **

Invisalign & Extractions

Extractions were more common with older methods of orthodontics such as braces. The good news is that most dentists today, due to advanced technology, no longer need to remove teeth.

However, in some cases of extreme crowding, your dentist may recommend an extraction. Sometimes, wisdom tooth removal might be necessary prior to your Invisalign treatment.

To find out if you require an extraction or a wisdom tooth removal procedure prior to your Invisalign treatment, book a consultation with our Calgary dentist.

Calgary Cosmetic Dentistry: Invisalign vs Braces

While there are several cosmetic dentistry procedures available to help straighten out your teeth, most dentists recommend Invisalign due to its convenience and proven effectiveness.

Some of the advantages Invisalign has over more traditional braces include:

  • Unparalleled Comfort: While metal-wired braces often cause sores or blisters, the high-quality, smooth plastic of the Invisalign aligners are designed to make your treatment as comfortable and pain-free as possible.
  • Easier to Maintain Good Oral Care: Food particles often become trapped in braces and are very difficult to remove. This can lead to plaque buildup and tooth decay. Invisalign aligners are removable, making it easier to continue eating, brushing and flossing as you always have.
  • No Eating Restrictions: One of the biggest drawbacks of wearing braces is that you will have difficulty eating certain foods. Because Invisalign trays are removable, you won’t face any dietary restrictions during your treatment.
  • Customized Treatment: The Invisalign cosmetic dentistry treatment is fully customized to your unique teeth movements and aesthetic goals, providing a more successful treatment outcome.
